Liwal Smart Film is a PDLC film (Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal). The structure of PDLC film consists of liquid crystal droplets dispersed within a polymer matrix, which is sandwiched between two layers of conductive film. The polymer forms a network structure filled with liquid crystal droplets and high polymer materials.
When the power is turned off, the liquid crystal molecules are randomly oriented, scattering the light and causing the Smart Film to become opaque (frosted, private). When power is applied, the liquid crystal molecules align, allowing incident light to pass through, and the Smart Film instantly becomes clear (transparent).
Features
Privacy and Room Partition:
Privacy protection is the key feature of Smart Film. Instantly switch the glass from clear to frosted, allowing you to create private or open spaces on demand.
Energy Saving and Environmentally Friendly:
With very low power consumption (3–4W/m²), Smart Film blocks 99% of UV rays and 60% of infrared (IR) radiation. This helps reduce heat gain and loss, protects interior furnishings from aging or fading, and safeguards occupants from health risks associated with prolonged sun exposure.
Sound Insulation:
Provides up to 20% better noise reduction compared to ordinary glass, enhancing indoor comfort.
Explosion-Proof:
Eliminates the need for traditional window coverings like shutters, blinds, or drapes, while enhancing safety with shatter-resistant properties.
Multiple Control Options:
Supports various control methods including remote control, wall switch, light sensor, voice control, dimmable control, mobile app, and more.
